Jorge Martin He confidently arrives at the motorcycle event in Aragon. He learned the lesson from Austria, where it is believed that he was too late for Pico bagnaya. He knows how to improve to beat the Italian and he showed it at MotorLand.

Expectations.

“It’s been a long time since Le Mans. I always feel that I have the ability to win. The last two weekends I was more reserved and Pico was intractable. All three of them have already won here, so I hope to achieve it myself.”

What is missing.

“It’s very difficult to say. Biko is at a great level, he has improved his weaknesses, although he does not have any weaknesses. He has improved the ones he had compared to M and I have to do that.”

The calendar.

“Thailand is one of the best circuits, it will be very hot. I have never ridden a motorcycle in Brno.”

Rain option.

“We have a lot of tires to test, we’ll see if it rains.”

A joint venture with Formula 1.

“It will be great. Formula 1 does not need anything, it sells all the tickets. It will be important that the motorcycle is as it was. It has happened on a few dates already.”

Sensations.

“I’m a little missing to find that “feeling” with the front that Pico has a little more than me, but well, I hope to find it here.”

What I learned from aragen 2021 and 2022.

“It’s obviously a circuit where there are many places to get past, but it’s not easy to get past, because we can see from other years that a lot of people are trying to get past it, but they spend a long time. It is a very wide path; after that, it is very easy to counterattack at the same moment, because people usually go a long way and even if it is half a meter, you can return the bike. It is important to be fast from the very beginning, get a good pace, try to get first and that no one outperforms.”

The importance of the first two rounds.

“It depends on the circle. In Austria, he would say 90 percent ; here it could be 50. 50 is already earned if you put yourself first at the start, but it can be redeemed. It is one of the paths where you can recover the most, and even if you make a mistake, or do a bad qualifying session, you have a chance to win.”

Why is multiple sclerosis recovering?

“Since there are overtaking places, it is a track with a lot of corners, where you have more time to recover. In Austria, everything was pretty much the same, however, being a longer route, you can also make more differences.”

Go behind in the race.

“It’s very hot in Austria and when you fall behind, everything gets hectic. I was very comfortably in the back, until, at a certain point, I was no longer comfortable and I was falling. It depends a lot on the temperatures. If there are a lot of temperatures here, then certainly the problem is not to be too extreme, but the problem is to be so. It is important to lead. If you are not driving, make room with the one in front. It’s something that needs to be looked at a little in strategy. But in Austria, staying Ah stuck to was not the best strategy.”

Trying to drive.

“Depending on the weather, there are times when it’s better to be late, as happened to me at Silverstone or at Le Mans . You have to see according to the temperature, to suggest your racing strategy.”

Having fun at this level.

“For M, it’s not fun, it’s knowing how to enjoy suffering, enjoy suffering, enjoy the process, enjoy giving one hundred percent, more than having fun. I think that having fun could be said years ago, right? ‘Have fun on the track’ is nothing, but, in the end, you’re giving your one hundred percent, you’re going to 200 beats, and the least you have to do is have fun. You suffer, but we should also enjoy that suffering that we experience on the bike.”

Mental work.

“I think it works. Even if you don’t work for it, in the end, we all enjoy this sport, enjoy making poles, winning, but you also have to enjoy the process and I think you have to work at it.”

How to cut for Pico.

“There are different points where L is stronger… It’s not that he is stronger than me, but where I can improve: one is braking, this is where I am, right now, stronger than me. I’m working on it, in the last two races I didn’t feel good, but I think here we have an idea to take a leap. And in the end, I suffer from driving behind other drivers. You can see Mark, even Pico, who could be behind for a longer time, or Enya, but it’s hard for me to be so close. No s if for a track issue, braking, but I can follow them for several laps and I go faster when leading. I have to work to go faster when I go to Rueda.”

Evaluate your level and that of Pico.

“I don’t think it’s valuable or unappreciated, because I’m not looking at anything, but I appreciate my work one hundred percent, I trust it and it’s clear that if there are two contestants who make a difference, we have to appreciate it.”
